Our Story

A Tradition of Excellence

Nestled on a quiet cobblestone lane in the West Village, La Maison began as a simple dream shared between Chef Laurent Dupont and his wife, Camille. What started as a twelve-seat dining room has grown into one of the city's most cherished culinary destinations, yet the spirit remains unchanged: honest cooking, impeccable ingredients, and a reverence for the seasons.

Every dish that leaves our kitchen carries the philosophy that great food is an act of generosity. We source from local farms within a hundred miles, age our own cheeses in cellars beneath the restaurant, and bake our bread before dawn each morning. The menu shifts with the harvest, because we believe nature is the finest author of any recipe.

Meet the Chef

Laurent Dupont

Executive Chef & Founder

Born in Lyon to a family of restaurateurs, Laurent spent his formative years at his grandmother's side, learning the patience that transforms simple ingredients into something extraordinary. After apprenticeships at Le Bernardin and a three-year tenure under Alain Ducasse in Paris, he returned to New York with a singular vision.

His cooking reflects a deep respect for classical technique tempered by a restless curiosity. Each plate balances precision with warmth, the hallmarks of a chef who has never stopped learning. His tasting menus have twice been named among the city's finest by the James Beard Foundation.

An Intimate Evening

The Chef's Table Experience

Tucked behind the kitchen, our private Chef's Table seats eight guests for an evening unlike any other. Watch Chef Laurent and his brigade craft a bespoke seven-course tasting menu, each dish presented and narrated by the chef himself. Wines are paired by our sommelier from rare and notable selections.

This is not simply a meal — it is a conversation between kitchen and table, an unscripted journey through the finest ingredients of the season. Reservations are required at least two weeks in advance and are available Thursday through Saturday.
